Palm Beach County Hoarding Task Force

As many agencies and private sector organizations meet this year to form the Palm Beach County Hoarding Task Force one theme rings very clear.  Hoarding is a Community Issue and as a community, no matter where you live in Palm Beach County, we need to come together and address the many and complex sides of Hoarding.

Each individual has a reason to who, what, when, where and why they might have an issue with Hoarding.  There are many different levels to Hoarding and there might just be a Hoarder in all of us.  Regardless each case has to be evaluated individually to get the best course of action in order to ensure appropriate assistance.  Working with the Task Force is going to be a learning and growing experience for everyone and most importantly bring light in an otherwise gloomy, behind the curtains issue.

NHNP along with our partners are a "hands on the ground" volunteer organization and we are addressing the actual clean up portion of the issues.  We have been working with individuals for several years now and we are very proud that the PBC Task Force has formed.  We certainly did not know of the many resources that were out there and feel that we can, on a go forward basis, make a real difference in the work we do with our new partners from the public and private sectors.

This Saturday, June 22, 2013 will be our first hands on volunteer clean up as part of the Task Force and we are very excited to make a difference.  We will be at our West Palm Beach location from 9AM till 1PM with volunteers to clean out a condo for a wonderful person in need.  The multi-agency efforts is greatly appreciated and a giant step in the right direction.

If you would like to volunteer for this event please email your name, phone number and address to nhnproject@gmail.com.  NHNP is a non-profit sweat equity organization ran by volunteers for volunteers in Palm Beach County.  Our partners are Rebuilding Together of the Palm Beaches, Paint Your Heart Out and many other non-profits and private sector organizations.

We do not have an operating budget other than the most valuable asset which is your hands and hard work.  All volunteers are required to sign waivers before work begins and please note in the clean up of hoarding some conditions are "less than desirable."

We thank everyone for all your support and time over the years and look forward to many more to come!
