Emergency Aid Program for Families with Minor Children

To All

The Department's emergency aid program for families with minor children
facing eviction due to past due rent has some additional funds now
available to help families in crisis.

The Emergency Financial Assistance for Housing Program applications are
available on the Department's internet site at:

www.dcf.state.fl.us/programs/homelessness

Given the funding available, eligible families should submit applications
for assistance before the end of April 2011. The maximum level of
assistance is still $400 per family, per year.

To be eligible, families must have a minor child living in the household,
and the family income must be under the income limits set for the TANF cash
assistance program.

Applications must include the form signed by the landlord indicating that a
check from the state on behalf of the family will be accepted.

For more information, contact the Emergency Financial Assistance for
Housing Program staff toll free at 1-877-891-6445.

Please share this information with your local service providers who may be
interested in the homeless prevention assistance.

Thank you
Tom
