2010 Derelict Vessel Report

Palm Beach County, Florida - 03-02-2011 - The numbers are in! LagoonKeepers.org with the help of the community removed 40 Derelict boats from the Intracoastal Waterway in 2010 in Palm Beach County, Florida.

18 boats (45%) where removed by LagoonKeepers.org with community assistance and funds raised in the community. The majority of the funds and assistance came from the following;
The Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County
Rybovich Marine Center
TowBoat US Palm Beach
Discount Boathouse Marine
Viking Yachts
in addition to over 200 other participates , thank you to all.

14 boats (35%) where removed with grant funding
Grants where provided by Florida Inland Navigational District with 25% matching funds coming from;

1. City of Riviera Beach
2. Riviera Beach Community Redevelopment
3. Palm Beach County Parks Department

8 boats (20%) where removed at the owners expense

In addition to removing derelict vessels, we continue to patrol the waters removing flatsum and jetsum.
Our fleet of boats are up to five vessels now, covering all 41 miles of Intracoastal waterway in Palm beach County.
